Abilene Reporter News Star Student Awards

The Abilene Reporter-News is proud to continue a tradition honoring high school juniors who have excelled in a multitude of areas in their young lives. From community service to academics, extra-curricular to character building activities, the Star Student Award recognizes the outstanding young men and women in the Abilene area.

The Star Student program allows any person in the Big Country, including educators, business, leaders, parents and students, to apply for the Star Student Award.

Nominations are accepted for high school juniors from area high schools after which the individual students nominated must complete the final application to the program.

An esteemed group of educators and community partners will review each application and designate the top students into gold, silver and bronze level tiers.

Students will be recognized and honored in a full run special section on May 25th in the Abilene Reporter-News.

In addition, every Star Student will be our guest of honor, along with two guests, at the Star Student Awards Banquet at the Hunter Welcome Center on the campus of ACU on May 19th.

The deadline for nominations is March 2, 2014. Once nominated, each student will have until March 14, 2014 to complete all remaining parts of the nomination form.
