Do you have college questions?

Reach Higher has partnered to create a chatbot (Bo! 🐶) that will answer students’ questions about all things related to college. This is a free tool that is available 24/7 on the Better Make Room Facebook page and can answer unlimited questions about the FAFSA, the college application process, college life, and many more topics!

In order  to use the chatbot, just click "send message" to the Better Make Room Facebook page and ask questions about college. Our automated chatbot, Bo, will take it from there! This does not require parents or students to enroll in or send any personal information to participate.

There is a quick link entitled "College Info" on this blog in the pages section.

College Board Scholarship

The College Board Opportunity Scholarship program is a $25 million commitment to encourage more students to take the steps necessary to get into college. This first-of-its-kind national scholarship program lays out six simple steps that all students can take to get college. Each step will earn a chance for a scholarship; doing all six will earn a chance to win $40,000 for their college education:

  1. Build their college list
  2. Practice for the SAT
  3. Improve their SAT score
  4. Strengthen their college list
  5. Fill out the FAFSA
  6. Apply to college

The six steps highlighted by College Board Opportunity Scholarships help students plan by making a good starter list of schools, prepare so they can take their best shot at getting in, and pay for college by earning scholarships and applying for financial aid. A video explaining the program is available here.

Students can begin today by signing up at CB.org/Opportunity.
