Tarleton State University Information

Application Fee Waiver

Spread the word to your students that our $50 application fee is currently waived. All the student needs to do is submit their application to us and we will waive that fee once we receive it.

ApplyTexas Updates

As many of you know, ApplyTexas launched their new system in the Fall and it is now located at for all applications for Fall 2022 and beyond. Students will need to go into the new GoApplyTexas system and create a profile and then they will be able to go in and apply to the colleges and universities of their choosing. If students have already created an account on ApplyTexas, they will need to recreate an account on GoApplyTexas.

Test Optional

First-time freshmen applying for undergraduate admission at Tarleton State University through Fall 2022 will not be required to submit an SAT or ACT test score as part of their admission application. New first-time freshmen ranked in the top half of their graduating high school class will be automatically admitted.

New first-time freshmen are, however, still encouraged to submit their SAT/ACT test scores for reasons other than automatic admission consideration, including:

1. Enhanced prospects for competitive scholarship awards

2. Possible TSI (Texas Success Initiative) exemption

3. For students ranked in the 3rd quarter of their graduating high school class, SAT/ACT scores may support admission consideration in individual review.

TSI Testing Information

While we are Test Optional for the SAT and ACT, we still must follow all state guidelines regarding TSI testing. All incoming students are required to have TSI scores or exemptions on file in order to register for a Texan Orientation session. For students who have completed the TSI Assessment, but need to send their scores to us, they can do so by filling out the TSI Score Release Form.

The following links are great resources for you or any of your students with questions regarding TSI or to schedule a test:
