Hunger Games Food Drive Junior Class Reward Day

The students at Clyde High School participated in a food drive that benefitted the Backpacks for Kids program.  Four service organization helped to lead the Hunger Games food drive;  the CHS Community Problem Solving team, HOSA, Key Club and Student Council. The food drive ran from Nov. 4-15. High School students raised nearly 3,000 items for the program. The winning class of students was the junior class.
For their reward, students were to be treated to a day out at the movies. Several individuals in Clyde gave money for these students to go out to the movie, however this money was not used for that purpose. Instead, the junior class at Clyde High School used the donated money to purchase toys for the children of Clyde. Students shopped for toys from the Wal-Mart circular before a group went to the store to purchase what the class had picked out.  We were able to purchase 128 toys that were given to the Men Of Clyde Organization.  Students weretreated to lunch from Chick-Fil-A. These students have done a tremendous job of helping those in our community.  Thank you to the following organization for making it possible for our students to continue to help those around us; Blake Fullenwider, Neil Schultz of Edward Jones, Tim Laws with First Financial, Jeremy Hall of Tytan Heating and Air, Chick-Fil-A, John Connel, and Joel Olson. Your donations helped make it possible for many students in Clyde to have a happy Christmas.
