KNOX WAGGONER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP App

Application Requirements

1.  The student is a senior scheduled to graduate from Clyde High School during the current academic year.


2.  The student has participated in at least one full season of a varsity athletic sport or cheerleading while a student at Clyde High School.


3. The student is planning to pursue a full-time educational program after high school that requires the payment of tuition and does not provide a stipend.


4. The student shall complete a written application and obtain two letters of recommendation.

 Selection Criteria

1. The student’s high school grades and course selections indicate preparation and probable success at the post-high school level.


2. The student’s athletic participation was a positive influence on the sportsmanship, attitude, and effort of his or her team and teammates.


3. Two letters of recommendation
   
   
   
   1. One letter from a coach who coached the student as a part of a high school team
   
   
   2. One letter from a teacher who taught the student in an academic class (math, science, social studies, English) at Clyde High School
   
   
   
   

 Selection Process

1.  The recipient shall be selected by a committee composed of at least one professional employee of Clyde High School, one representative of the Knox Waggoner family, and one member of the Clyde community.


2. The committee shall select a student based on the selection criteria and award $500.


3. The award will be announced no later than the week prior to Clyde High School graduation.


4. Upon the recipient’s enrollment at the college or university of his or her choice, a check will be sent to the college or university on behalf of the recipient.
