The Texas Education Agency is
excited to announce that the College and Career and Military Preparation (CCMP)
Division will be conducting a statewide listening tour to receive parent feedback
about the development of statewide goals and guidelines for a variety of
programs that help connect high school to career and college, and ensure all
students are prepared for success. In particular, the team will be looking for
input on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education,
Work-Based Learning opportunities across grade levels, and the new state plan
for the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st
Century Act.
Why:
The TEA is looking to increase access to high-quality
college and career preparatory programming for all students in Texas. In order
to do this, the TEA is looking to gather feedback from regions across the state
on what is working well and where additional support and guidance is needed.
Parents are an essential voice in the development of education policy and
practice and thus the TEA would like to invite parents to join a discussion
with TEA staff around current and future educational experiences.
Where:
All meetings will be held at the
Regional Education Service Center, located at 4300 S. Treadaway, Abilene, TX.
When:
The face-to-face parent meeting in your region will be
January 22nd, from 6:30 PM -
7:30 PM. A staff member will be at the
front door to greet you.
